The Ambassador
Youssef Amrani
Ambassador Youssef Amrani, a native of Tangier, holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Mohammed V University of Rabat and a degree in Management from the Boston University School of Management.
Ambassador Amrani’s distinguished diplomatic career spans over forty-four years. Before assuming his current role as His Majesty’s Ambassador to the United States, he has held a series of distinguished positions both domestically and internationally. He served, most recently, as the Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to South Africa, with non-resident accreditation to Eswatini, Botswana, and Malawi. Prior to this assignment, he served in various other roles, including Chargé de Mission in the Royal Cabinet, Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean.
Throughout his tenure as Ambassador, he has represented Morocco in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama. Within the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Amrani has undertaken pivotal responsibilities, serving as Secretary General and Director General of Bilateral Affairs.
Ambassador Amrani is fluent in Arabic, his native language, and also masters English, Spanish, Italian, and French. He is married and a father to one son.
