The US official noted that the United States of America reaffirms its support for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, considered as a serious, credible and realistic solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue. Assistant Secretary Leaf added that the United States values Morocco’s crucial voice in advancing a more peaceful and more secure Middle East region as well as its leadership in responding to humanitarian needs in Gaza, noting that Morocco’s longstanding commitment to co-existence remains an important example in this context.
