Morocco and the United States Sign a Military Cooperation Agreement

On this occasion, His Majesty King Mohammed VI awarded decorations to three American officers: Major General Daniel Boyack, Commander of the Utah State National Guard; Lieutenant Colonel Teremura Shamel, Head of the Office of Security Cooperation (OSC) at the US Embassy in Rabat; and Major Christopher Tarbet, Bilateral Affairs Officer at the same office. These decorations, presented during the conclusion of the second working session of the DCC, were in recognition of their contributions to fostering military cooperation between Morocco and the United States.
Of particular importance is the fact that the Defense Consultative Committee meeting provides a platform for strategic dialogue to discuss critical regional security issues, outline future action plans with AFRICOM and the Utah State National Guard, and manage capacity-building projects through the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
Furthermore, in 2020, Morocco and the United States embarked on a decade-long defense cooperation roadmap, extending their collaborative efforts through 2030. This roadmap aims to enhance defense cooperation, forge robust partnerships, and ensure interoperability between the two nations, fostering stability and security in the region.
