Morocco Participates in Eleventh Ministerial Meeting of Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Washington, D.C.

The eleventh ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS convened on Monday in Washington, D.C., led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Morocco was represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, along with Ambassador Youssef Amrani and Ismail Chekkouri, Director of Global Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting brought together 87 delegations from various countries, underscoring the coalition's strong international commitment to combatting terrorism. This significant gathering also marks the 10th anniversary of the Global Coalition, which was established to confront and dismantle the ISIS threat.

The agenda focused on strategies to prevent the resurgence of ISIS and support nations impacted by its activities. As the coalition reflects on this milestone, discussions are expected to explore innovative approaches to counter the evolving threats posed by ISIS, particularly in regions where the group has sought to regain a foothold.
