Morocco Shines as Guest of Honor at Americas Food and Beverage 2024

Ambassador Youssef Amrani of Morocco, alongside Consul General Chafika El Habti, emphasized the significance of Morocco’s participation. "With its exceptional culinary heritage and growing export capacities, Morocco proudly showcases its agro-food and fisheries products at this prestigious global fair," Ambassador Amrani stated during the opening ceremony. Leading Morocco’s delegation is Ghita El Ghorfin, General Director of Morocco Foodex, highlighting the event's dual role as both a commercial showcase and a venue for building enduring partnerships and exchanging innovative ideas.
Ambassador Amrani also emphasized that Morocco is actively exploring diverse, strategic international partnerships in alignment with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He noted that the relationship with the United States offers substantial growth potential and unparalleled opportunities. This fair is a testament to Morocco's commitment to expanding its agricultural exports to the American market, a trend that is expected to continue rising. Emphasizing the importance of the United States and Miami in Morocco’s foreign policy, the diplomat also highlighted the forthcoming opening of a Moroccan consulate in Miami and the direct flight linking the city to Morocco as testaments to the significance of Miami for the Kingdom.
Moreover, the Ambassador noted that Morocco’s participation in the Americas Food and Beverage Show symbolizes the Kingdom’s ongoing dedication to increasing its presence in the American market and enhancing trade relations with the U.S.
The Moroccan pavilion, organized in partnership with the World Trade Center Miami, stands out for its broad array of products that reflect the depth and variety of Morocco’s culinary legacy. This year’s exhibition welcomes over 7,500 professionals, and the presence of numerous high-profile American officials—such as Senator Maria Elvira Salazar, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniela Lévine Cava, and Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner—underscores the event's importance.
The event highlights the potential of the North American market for Moroccan producers and vice versa, emphasizing the mutual benefits of this transatlantic trade relationship. The Moroccan diaspora in Florida, exceeding 80,000 members, further strengthens cultural and economic ties between the two nations. The direct flight between Casablanca and Miami, inaugurated in 2019, exemplifies this dynamic connection, as do bilateral agreements in the maritime and port sectors.
