Visit of a Moroccan Military Delegation Aboard Aircraft Carrier USS Harry S. Truman
The delegation was welcomed, upon its arrival, by the Commander of the 8th Carrier Strike Group, Rear Admiral Sean R. Bailey, and the Commander of the USS Truman, Captain Dave Snowden.
During this visit, the Moroccan delegation received briefings on the missions of the Carrier Strike Group and its operational capabilities. On this occasion, the Moroccan flag was raised aboard the aircraft carrier.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Moroccan and American officials to discuss issues of common interest, particularly regional security, enhancing the ability of both armed forces to act jointly against diverse and evolving threats, and expanding joint exercises in the air and naval domains.
It is worth recalling that Morocco and the USA celebrate this year the 20th anniversary of the African Lion Exercise, which has achieved its objectives as a basis for military cooperation in the field of training and as an example of the distinguished relationship between the Royal Armed Forces and the US Army, marked by trust, serious commitment and efficiency in developing and strengthening common defense mechanisms and the strategic partnership between the two countries.
