French President pays a Historic State Visit to the Kingdom of Morocco
This historic visit has been marked by the signing of the Declaration on “the reinforced exceptional partnership” between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, aimed at enabling the two countries to better address shared challenges by mobilizing all relevant sectors of bilateral, regional and international cooperation.
In the same vein, the two Heads of State chaired the signing ceremony of several agreements between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic. These agreements cover a number of fields such as technology, transports, logistics, energy, water management, agriculture, education and culture among others.
Another marking event in this visit was the speech addressed by President Macron before the members of the two Houses of the Moroccan Parliament, which reflects a genuine desire to strengthen the strategic partnership with Morocco, and gives a strong boost to bilateral cooperation in line with the aspirations of the peoples and leaders of both countries.
During this Speech, the French President solemnly reaffirmed that “the present and future of the Sahara” are within Moroccan sovereignty. He noted afterwards in declarations to the Press that this "must help achieve better regional integration, better stabilization of the Sahara, and hence of the Sahel".
He also commended, in his Speech to the Parliament, the constructive role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for peace in the Middle East.
During his visit, The President of the French Republic extended an official invitation to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to pay a State visit to France, which the Sovereign accepted. The date of this visit shall be agreed through diplomatic channels.
