Morocco's Commitment to Peace and Stability: Prime Minister Akhannouch's Address at the Joint Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit
The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s significant contributions to fostering peace and justice in the region. He took the opportunity to reaffirm Morocco's unwavering support for constructive efforts aimed at securing a lasting ceasefire and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. In this regard, Mr. Akhannouch underscored that His Majesty's calls for immediate humanitarian relief reflect a broader need for a strategic shift in how the region approaches the conflict. He underlined His Majesty’s perspective that the situation demands more than short-term crisis management—it requires a sustained commitment to addressing the root causes of the conflict and working towards a just and lasting peace.
Furthermore, Mr. Akhannouch highlighted Morocco's ongoing efforts to address the humanitarian crisis. As Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has been actively involved in humanitarian and medical initiatives aimed at alleviating the hardships of Palestinians, particularly those in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. In this context, Morocco has provided urgent humanitarian aid through the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency, the operational body of the Al-Quds Committee. This aid has been delivered via a unique land route, underscoring Morocco’s commitment to offering practical, on-the-ground support.
The Prime Minister's address conveyed Morocco's role in shaping the collective response of the Arab and Islamic world to the ongoing crises. It reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to both political solutions and humanitarian assistance, reflecting the Kingdom’s active participation in efforts to bring about peace and justice in the Middle East.
