With a poignant emphasis on the significance of programs like Fulbright, Ambassador Amrani painted a vision of a world where educational exchanges serve as corner stone in diplomacy, fostering global peace and cooperation, as he underscored the alignment of these endeavors with
the forward-thinking vision articulated by King Mohammed VI in the New Development Model, where education stands as a cornerstone for societal advancement and prosperity.
In this context, Mr. Amrani underscored Morocco’s aim to empower its youth as catalysts for positive change, driving sustainable growth and inclusive prosperity by prioritizing the development of human capital.
Following Ambassador Amrani's remarks, Dr. Rebecca Geffner, the Executive Director of the Moroccan-American Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (MACECE), celebrated the remarkable achievements spanning over four decades of educational and cultural exchange. Dr. Geffner highlighted the pivotal role played by the Fulbright program in nurturing a vibrant community of 4,000 Moroccan and American alumni. These individuals, she emphasized, embody a diverse array of talents as innovators, researchers, artists, and cultural ambassadors, all contributing significantly to fostering mutual understanding between Morocco and the U.S.
Both Ambassador Amrani and Dr. Geffner shared a hopeful message, celebrating the enduring legacy of the Fulbright program and casting a visionary outlook on its future impacts. The event was marked by the attendance of U.S. officials from the Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
