Strengthening US-Morocco Cooperation in Nuclear and Radiological Regulation

Seizing the opportunity to congratulate Mr. Wright on his new appointment, Mr. Mouline emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two institutions, stating, “We are determined to deepen our cooperation with the USNRC, a key partner in our mission to strengthen nuclear and radiological safety.” He also highlighted the pivotal role of this partnership in addressing global challenges in nuclear regulation.
The discussions were centered on enhancing capabilities, particularly in Africa, through initiatives such as the African School of Radiological Safety for Regulators, established by AMSSNuR in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). “Capacity building in nuclear safety is crucial for our continent,” Saïd Mouline stated. “We are confident that our collaboration with the USNRC and IAEA will help ensure a safe and sustainable future for Africa.”
AMSSNuR's participation in the 37th RIC, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the USNRC, underscored the agency's ongoing commitment to playing an active role in strengthening nuclear and radiological safety and security on both a continental and global scale.
By continuing its cooperation with the USNRC, AMSSNuR is bolstering its technical and strategic capabilities to better address global challenges. The agency remains resolute in deepening this fruitful partnership, confident in its crucial role in ensuring a safe, responsible, and sustainable future for nuclear and radiological safety worldwide.
