In that conversation, President Trump informed His Majesty the King of the issuance of a presidential proclamation, an act of undeniable legal and political weight, that announced the United States' full recognition of the Kingdom of Morocco's sovereignty over the entire Moroccan Sahara region, with immediate effect.
The head of U.S. diplomacy also reiterated that the United States “supports Morocco’s serious, credible, and realistic Autonomy Proposal as the only basis for a just and lasting solution to the Sahara dispute,” as stated by U.S. Department of State spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
